Featherweight sheepskin from Taonga is the very best quality sheepskin available anywhere. The technical name for our featherweight sheepskin is lambskin slink. Slink hides are harvested from the small percentage of baby lambs which don't survive the birthing process. Because of the source of the slink hides, they are the lightest weight of all sheepskin hides. Slink hides are so highly prized because they are incredibly soft, supple and lightweight. They also have incredibly warm and soft wool fleece. Because the hides are never exposed to the rugged elements, they are not scarred and lend themselves to produce extremely fine light colored, sueded pelts.
