Taonga featherweight sheepskins - a special gift from the New Zealand high country.
Taonga (pronounced "Tay-on-gah") sheepskins is a new label for premium quality lambskin slink products. The owners of Taonga have been in the sheepskin business for many years and many of our coat makers have decades of experience. Taonga sheepskins specializes in sheepskin coats for men and women which are made using the featherweight lambskin slink sheepskins from New Zealand. Lambskin slink is the most highly prized of the various grades of sheepskin due to its extremely light weight, warmth, softness and suppleness.
Taonga featherweight sheepskins are individually handcrafted using the finest spring lamb sheepskins available. A Taonga sheepskin coat is unique in its soft hand, luxurious drape and unequaled feather-like weight.
Interestingly, the lightweight lambs wool in a Taonga coat retains your body heat as well as a thicker shearling wool but without the heavy weight and restrictive bulk.
Taonga is a Maori word which means “treasure”. The symbol in our label is the New Zealand Maori Koru which is derived from the native New Zealand fern frond. In the Maori culture, the Koru symbol represents new beginnings, new life, growth and harmony. May the addition of the Taonga sheepskin coat line be a simple treasure that you enjoy throughout your journey.
