How can I Buy a cheaper home.? (Property Auctions)?
Hi.
I can afford a max mortgage of 80k and I am looking for property auctions so that I can buy a cheaper property, possibly with need of renovations.
Does anyone know how i go about this in Buckinghmahsire / Northampton area?
Is it possible to get anything on this value ?I am lookign for a 1-2 bedroom flat/house.
Any resource about property auctions around these areas will be much appreciated.
Thanks
Just type in ‘ Property Auctions’ and request a catalogue for the next auction.
You could also try www.savills.co.uk or www.roypugh.co.uk. Both these are auction houses with monthly auctions.
Another way is to approach the local council in the area that you want to move to and ask what properties they have for sale.
Some will sell off all types of buildings that they cannot afford to renovate themselves, but are happy to see it restored rather than fall into disrepair.
A grant may be available, if no bathroom or kitchen a mortgage may not. But there are specialists who can help.
Try organisations like the water authorities, BT, Ministry of Defence,Church Commissioners, all own property that sometimes are glad to sell.
You may end up living in a converted pumping station or a telephone exchange. There are 2 mid Victorian pumping stations near me, both empty and not used because modern pumps need so little room, they can fit in the size of a small shed.
They would make stunning 4 bed homes with a little imagination.
