Finishing basement; ideas on how to….?
Is about 550 sq feet. I want to put in a 1/2 bath that will probably be the size of a smaller full bath to accomodate washer/dryer. Also the furnace/hw heater takes up about 25 sq feet. I want to convert the rest into two rooms, but in such a way as to allow it to be opened into one room if desired. What (if it is possible!) are some feasible ways to do this? E.g., i’m thinking of having a wall bifurcate the available space but having a large sliding door comprise a good portion of the wall. Any ideas? Thew goal is to allow me to rent out one room as a bedroom, but to also use the whole thing as a single playroom if I so decide when the tenant moves out. Thanks!
You will need to check your building codes to determine how much open space is required around the furnace and water heater. By law, and for safety, they have to be accessible.
